The 2018-2019 school year was jammed packed with youth engagement in gardening and partner collaborations. City Schoolyard Garden is fortunate to have a diverse cadre of partners, volunteers and supporters that work together to engage Charlottesville youth in nature, enhance academic learning and cultivate the skills for healthy living. At our annual Root! Celebration we recognize a few of the people who have made unique and significant contributions to engage youth in gardening and to help City Schoolyard Garden thrive by honoring them with our Golden Trowel Award or Golden Beet Award. We tip our hats to these wonderful Golden Trowel Award and Golden Beet Award winners.

City Schoolyard Garden also grew with our individual donors, organizational and business sponsors that have leveraged support from federal and state agencies. We are so grateful for the critical support which is deepening our program impacts and broadening our reach. To see results from last year’s evaluation, check out the CSG 2016-2018 Overview Evaluation Report, Growing Impacts: Activities and Outcomes for City Schoolyard Garden Programs.

With much gratitude, we thank CSG’s corporate and foundation sponsors  and bountiful harvest donors.
